Two exits: front door and back patio door. Smoke detectors in each room - tested monthly. Carbon monoxide detector in hallway. Emergency numbers posted on refrigerator.

Swim near lifeguard stations when possible. Watch for rip currents - swim parallel to shore if caught. Jellyfish season is August-September - vinegar in first aid kit helps stings.

Raccoons visit at night—don't leave food outside. Seal pups on beach are waiting for mom—don't touch! Poison oak on some trails—learn to identify it.
